Concrete and Rock Core Cutting Machine

Extracting cylindrical cores from hardened concrete and rock formations is only half the task — preparing those cores to precise testing dimensions requires specialized cutting equipment. This core cutting machine transforms irregular drilled cores into perfectly flat-ended, dimensionally accurate test specimens ready for compressive strength evaluation in accordance with IS, ASTM, and BS testing standards.

Raw cores extracted from structures contain rough, uneven ends that would produce unreliable crushing test results due to uneven load distribution. This machine's diamond blade slices through concrete, natural rock, stone, and tiles with surgical precision, creating parallel flat surfaces perpendicular to the specimen axis — a critical requirement for valid compressive strength determination.

The water-cooled cutting system prevents heat damage to the concrete microstructure while suppressing dust generation, ensuring the core's material properties remain unaltered during specimen preparation. The adjustable clamping mechanism securely holds cores ranging from 50mm to 150mm diameter, while the precision guide rail system delivers square, parallel cuts with minimal operator skill required.

Specimen Preparation Applications:

  • Trimming drilled concrete cores to exact length-to-diameter ratios for strength testing
  • Creating flat surfaces on rock cores for point load and UCS testing
  • Cutting cylindrical specimens from concrete blocks and structural elements
  • Preparing samples from pavement cores for forensic investigation
  • Sectioning cores for visual inspection of aggregate distribution and voids

Compatible with thin-walled diamond blades up to 300mm diameter for cutting specimens up to 150mm core diameter. The variable-feed control allows adjustment of cutting speed to match material hardness, ensuring vibration-free cutting for precision test specimen preparation.
