Specimen Extruder for Marshall and Proctor Moulds

The Specimen Extruder provides safe, efficient removal of compacted specimens from Marshall moulds, standard Proctor moulds, and modified Proctor moulds without damaging the test specimen or mould assembly. Manual specimen extraction risks breaking fragile bitumen specimens or bending mould components, while this hydraulic extruder applies controlled, uniform pressure that ejects specimens cleanly for subsequent testing.

Attempting to manually knock out a Marshall bitumen specimen often results in cracked or chipped samples that produce invalid stability test results. Similarly, forcing out a compacted soil specimen from a Proctor mould can damage the mould's precision-machined interior, affecting future specimen dimensions. This extruder eliminates these risks through smooth hydraulic ram action that applies gradual upward force, separating the specimen from the mould without shock or deformation.

The universal design accommodates specimens from 100mm diameter moulds up to 300mm height, covering the full range of standard laboratory compaction and Marshall specimens. The sturdy base platform supports the inverted mould while the hydraulic ram pushes against the specimen base plate, driving the compacted material upward and out of the mould in seconds.

Laboratory Specimen Handling:

  • Safe extraction of Marshall bitumen specimens for stability and flow testing
  • Removal of compacted soil specimens from standard and modified Proctor moulds
  • Ejection of CBR specimens from moulds without damage for penetration testing
  • Quick specimen recovery improving laboratory productivity and mould longevity

The hydraulic pump features a comfortable operating handle with smooth, controlled pressure buildup. The 100mm × 300mm capacity accommodates all standard laboratory moulds. Robust steel construction ensures years of reliable service in busy testing laboratories where dozens of specimens require extraction daily.
